Vision Is Priceless Receives $25,000 from the Eye Research Foundation
Jacksonville’s Eye Research Foundation has provided Vision Is Priceless with a significant gift of $25,000 to support its sight-saving services.
Funding will be used to:
- increase the number of comprehensive eye exams given to students in need at Title I schools in Duval County;
- provide eye exams and prescription glasses to adults who are uninsured and underserved in Northeast Florida;
- and provide preventative vision care through free vision screenings for adults and children throughout the First Coast.
“We are so grateful for the longtime incredible support of the Eye Research Foundation,” said Jami Gaff Bueker, Vision Is Priceless Executive Director. “This gift has a tremendous impact on our ability to achieve our mission of improving the vision health of children and adults in our community.”
The Eye Research Foundation, which was established in 1969 by Dr. W.J. Knauer Jr., Dr. Frances Kinne, and W. Ashley Verlander, has been a presence in vision care for more than 50 years. The Foundation has a rich history of investing in our community through its more than 25 years of support of Vision Is Priceless and through its annual day-long continuing education seminar it host for ophthalmic technicians and others in the vision field.
